Nestled in the Ottawa Valley in one of the most picturesque parts of Ontario, Cobden is a small community close to Pembroke and about an hour north of Ottawa.
Caressant Care Cobden was opened in July 2000 and this Nursing Home became one of the first built to the New Design Standards set out by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
We have 64 nursing home beds which are basic (2 people in a semi-divided room) or private with their own ensuite bathroom. Residents live in their own “Home” unit of no more than 32 Residents, and each Unit has a dining room, activity/lounge, etc. There is also a large activity room for all residents to join together for events like crafts, bingo, get fit, Karaoke, Bible study, and birthday parties; and outside entertainment is provided by local bands, speakers, visiting pets, and other groups. The building is structured around an inner garden courtyard, with access from both the Nursing Home and the adjacent Retirement Home, offering residents a quiet and secure outdoor area to enjoy. Caressant Care Cobden also provides space for the Cobden Public Library within the building, thus providing a close contact with the community itself.
Our residents enjoy 3 home-cooked meals every day prepared by our Dietary staff, and physician-ordered diets can be accommodated.
